Woodlawn Middle School student Haley Cook recently took time to support a worthy cause by donating her hair to Locks of Love. The group is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. Donated hair must measure at least 10 inches from tip to tip. Haley began growing out her hair in fourth grade while attending Woodlawn Elementary. This type of community service is commendable and seen often from students in Ouachita Parish Schools. Haley is in 7th grade, a member of the Beta Club, and an honor student. Her parents are Walter and Sherry Stafford, and her principal is Charles Dykes. Thanks Haley for making a difference!
