PACE is Set for Crosley
Posted on Wednesday, October 08 @ 16:20:40 CDT by aline

OPSB News The West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Community Trust Bank and Entergy, as well as Ouachita Parish School System and Crosley Elementary School, has continued its education initiative, PACE (Partners in Achieving Community Excellence) by again funding Pre-K at Crosley. Early childhood learning has been shown to make a huge impact on the future success of children. However, with the cost of school supplies, fees, and even field trips, not all families can afford to send children to Pre-K. The PACE program, with monetary support from the partner companies, Community Trust Bank and Entergy, helps families by providing funds that cover most of the expenses making it possible for every Pre-K aged child living in the Riverbend/Crosley school zones able to attend. Kindergarten teachers report every year that children who attend Pre-K at Crosley are prepared for kindergarten and have a good start on becoming successful learners.

Everyone involved in this combined effort—the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce, Community Trust Bank, Entergy, Ouachita Parish School System, Crosley Elementary and the families in the community—are winners and should be commended for this endeavor to make our community a better place in which to live. Thanks to the businesses for making this possible!
