Swayze Chosen for BackPack for Kids Program
OPSB News Swayze Elementary School was recently chosen to participate in the BackPack for Kids Program sponsored by Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana. The mission of the program is to alleviate hunger among at-risk children in public schools. This program provides a take-home bag of shelf stable foods to students on a weekly basis. As a result, BackPack for Kids empowers school personnel to take direct action to benefit hungry children and to increase awareness among parents and guardians of resources available to low-income families in our community through educational literature included in the BackPack. Swayze is very grateful to Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana for helping us keep our students healthy!
