High School ROTC Units celebrate Veteran's Day with local veterans

The West Monroe and West Ouachita High School ROTC units spent this past week honoring veterans in multiple ways, leading up to Veteran’s Day on Saturday, Nov. 11

West Ouachita participated in Central Elementary’s Veteran’s Day Celebration and a memorial ceremony at the cemetery.

West Monroe Air Force Junior ROTC members kicked off its week with a Presentation of Colors for the West Ouachita Senior Center Salute to Veterans Luncheon. They also performed a Flag Detail for the City of West Monroe Veteran's Celebration. On Friday was busy with Presentation of Colors for the City of Marion Veteran's Day Celebration in the Morning and a special "Salute to Veterans" was given at the West Monroe Football game where a full color guard with 14 Cadets representing every branch of the U.S. military presented the colors for the national anthem.

The West Monroe Corp finished its weekend with a presentation of colors at Texas Roadhouse. The restaurant honored veterans by providing free meals. The ROTC members ended Veteran’s Day performing a Presentation of Colors, a POW/MIA ceremony, and a flag retirement ceremony at the Chennault Military and Aviation Museum.
